E-mail from a coworker:

Subject: Cisco 10K RP crash

This crash was caused by the command "show ip bgp neighbors [customer IP] policy".

This is reproducible, so please take my word for it and don't try it yourself.

Heh. I was "Yay Cisco"-ing for an entirely different reason today -- their fix for authentication errors in XP with their 802.1x supplicant? "Disable the Welcome Screen."

::laughs::

One of my co-workers at [ISP] crashed a 7513 one day by turning on debugging. It was also fully used, so you can imagine what that command did.

Another one did (IIRC) 'route ip 0.0.0.0 [customer's serial connection on the router]', which brought down that router for a short interval as well. both were ridiculed (the latter with a giant sign above his desk say "We bring the internet to YOU!")

Good times.
