[identity profile] toxico.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] techrecovery
Not exactly on topic, but a snippet from a local computer store ad that amused me, and my take on it:

*blink*

"MORE COMPUTER HAPPY FUN! SUPER PROCESS TO THE MAX OF GODZILLA MEGAPOWERZORD WITH MOUTH! COME ON MY COUNTRY! THROAGH OF PERIL!"

For fuck's sake, hire a copy editor/proofreader!

If it's too OT I'll be glad to remove this post.

That's hysterical. Although I'll say one thing for Fry's: when I'm buying my blank DVDs or surfing their games, it's the one store I don't get treated like I'm some clueless girl.

And now

I saw a Telstra ad that made me want to weep. A massive billboard for an Australian company, bragging about its broadband right on a train station, seen by millions.

Up to fifty times faster then dialup!

.....

THEN DIALUP DID WHAT??

*cries for humanity*

Is that fifty metres to a "real" or a "reel"? Or is it perhaps to a "ream"? ;)

Completely new real of megapower... What an excellent phrase. You can invert it and use it disparagingly.

"Nah man, that's a totally old false of babygrip"

That didn't help. :-)

But neither did "extreme core" (harder than hardcore?), "multitasking monster", "twice the performance" and "megapower".
