FM call

Last night was an interesting call.

Webstar cable modem wasn't working. Went thru all the usual steps, soft and hard bounce, polling the modem with our tools. Taking the modem out to the main line and running the tools again. ALL of our tools said it was off line. Our tools are very accurate. Started setting up a service call. This got the guy pissed. Did I mention the guy is a retired doctor, who's daughter is doing her discertaion(sp?) tonight?

Him: I want to talk to someone else. You have no clue what you're talking about. It was up an hour ago.
Me: Certainly sir, one moment please.

I go get my sup. Who is a wonderfully sweet lady. So she starts talking to him. She does NO troubleshooting, just an irate caller management. Suddenly, the modem comes up and running. She offers the customer a service call anyways, which is refused. The cust asks her what she did, and she tells the cust she did absolutely nothing. She hangs up.

Me: How did that modem come up?
Sup: FM
Me: FM?
Sup: Fucking Magic.

I really LIKE my supervisor.
