Note to My Favorite People, for Without Which I Would Not Have a Job
Note to Instructors:
Please make sure to ignore my emails when I tell you you're getting an upgraded machine. I really like copying all of your files off your hard drive onto the network with you sitting behind me saying "*Please* make sure to get everything. *Please* don't forget anything." Because, unless you remind me, I most certainly will forget something in order to have to come back and deal with you again.
Also, I highly recommend that while I am trying to make sure I haven't forgotten any setup steps, you should tell me all about your financial situation, argue with me about my lack of health insurance and having to work two jobs (because, of course, I really want to work two part-time jobs with no benefits and then pay $400 a month for insurance I don't use), and how hard and stressful it is for you to work with idiots (students) 8 hours a day (with full benefits).
And, last but certainly not least, please hum along out of tune with Nora Jones loud enough that I can't properly hear the song and then remind me repeatedly during the song breaks that you are computer illiterate. I always seem to forget that.
