Stop calling me and complaining that you still get spam with the spam blocker. Let me explain.

The spam blocker is there to remove the majority of spam, but as spammers change their methods it's not going to stop everything. Dont say:

"It was working just fine, did you guys turn it off?"
"I turned it on, and my spam went away for a long time, now I keep getting spam...do you care about the spam anymore?"
"Why is my spam filter not working? It should remove all of it right?"

Sure, I like the premise of a spam blocker...but these people (or monkeys) think that it's just the ultimate cure all.

Let me tell you, it's not! I still get spam, and I have a couple of spam blockers. Perhaps I should turn off your spam blocker to truly show you what you could be getting!

Dearest Customer,

F* off and die!

Ugh...

This one's for all the DSL techs out there.

When you get customers calling in about slow speeds, at what point do you stop troubleshooting and tell them it's as high as it's going to get?

Example: 1536/768 dry ADSL line through Covad. Guy is complaining that his upload is only 600 and it should be 768. I try explaining that 600 is a good speed, there's not much else you can tweak to get it higher than that, etc.

So for an ADSL connection with a 768kbps upload, how close do you think the connection should be to that?

(and yes, I understand why the speed is never what is advertised, I've been doing this for a while).
