Subject: Passwor for restored files
Who has the password on the users data, when their defective laptop is sent back and they do data recovery?
They sent her data back to migrate to her new laptop but all files have a password the user does not know. Who does she contact?

OMG can you help?

Hi, Regional manager
The MyBackup program on the disk that was shipped takes care of all of that. The wrapper the CD comes in has the directions printed on it - Launch the program from the disk, and a shortcut appears on the desktop. Run the MyBackup tool from there, and choose option 3 for restore, then 3 for Full CD backup - shouldn't have to worry about the password at all.
The password itself is generated by the recovery program we use, and the MyBackup tool is the second half of that process.
Thanks!

I JUST sent an email on this to all of the regional and local managers, like three days ago. This process has been IN PLACE for six months. Why are there still questions?
